The red summer is the name given by n c p leader james weldon johnson for the months in 19 19 when a wave of racist riots. At least a hundred and 50 people were killed in the violence, and a hundred or so more lynched. But it's probably more like a thousand dead. You'll hear again, we no, we're never going to get a good accounting.
