Is Nearness of Approach a Gift of God?
Man approaches God most nearly when he is in one sense least like God for what can be more unlike than fullness and need. I think it's also, I love this distinction between nearness as lightness and nearness of approach. Often the needy person is actually drawing closer to God than the self-sufficient person who has these God-like autonomy in his or her own life.
