When I had my first job, which was back in the early 1990s, there were faculty who were having a big to do about the world population hitting six billion and they were talking about overpopulation. And actually, if you put aside the hype, look at the actual data, the plan is doing better today than it was way back in the 1990s. They all seem to think that we're on a collision course with utter devastation,. That there'll be so many people that will just have despoiled the earth.
