The family used to be primarily a business enterprise in which parents and children workd together. And the children would gain status in the family and in the neighborhoodby working in the family business. That image of the nuclear family is not conservative. It's a kind of religion. Its a kind of ideology. D and it goes hand in hand with the technological features that describing, i thinky. The shattering of the family at the age of 18 or 20 when the children go off to college and never come back again. Before it's a technological shattering. Means that people no longer possible for people toa, to for children to stay in some proximity with their parents.
