Convex Mirrors Focus Light to a Single Point
Convex mirrors take light from a large area and focus it down to a single point. This occurs because of the way that the mirror is curved inwards. A convex mirror pokes out in the middle so if you shine a beam of light on the convex mirror that's going to bounce off and then spread out in all sorts of different directions. So concave mirrors focus light to a point convex mirrors spread light out. In a moment I'm going to talk a little bit more about the different kinds of images that curved mirrors can make.
