The Fine Line Between Good and Bad Design Decisions
The problem is what you're measuring, right? Or how are you going to decide whether a design decision is quote unquote good, a quote unquote bat? Well, to do that, you need to have some metric you're measuring. And if that metric goes up, it was a good design decision. If the metric goes down, it's a bad sign. That sounds very crude, but that's actually the way a lot of design decisions get made. You know, just recently there was a lot of travel agent sites here in Europe got slapped with some fines because they were using all sorts of what I would describe as dark patterns for transactions.
