What Are the Worst Rental Increases in Australia?
The annual CPI came in at 7.4%. So it's cooled a little bit, although still the still the second highest during this crisis. The biggest contributors were housing is up 9.8% year over year. Renters had somewhat of a delayed increase compared to the increase in housing costs or the price of new houses. And there was an analysis done by the Guardian that detailed some of the worst rental increases in Australia. Some suburbs have undergone some massive increases in rent,. which is unfortunate, but is to be expected given the massive amount that mortgage rates have gone up over the last year or so.
