What Is a Staffing Shortage in Hospitals?

With inadequate, inadequate nursing staffing levels by experienced nurses, there's an increased rate of patient falls, infections and medical errors. Our hospital, methodist, has about 400 beds, and we've been at capacity for a long time. Ent hallways will be lined up with patients that are just waiting for all their patients to be discharged so they can take that bed.
