Rajiv: I think we can speak of varieties of Hindutva, if you will. Radhika did in fact point to these tensions when she referred to the deliberations in 1991,. who were the front runners and who eventually became the chief minister in Uttar Pradesh. So I do think that caste politics has posed a challenge to Hindutva politics. Rajiv: The selection proves that the BJP's ability is actually pretty formidable because even after all these challenges that it fails, it did still win the election.
