The Importance of UX Education

I'm trying to figure out, because neither of us have gone to a UX school. I haven't seen it formally as UX education, but information architecture and usability there is at university level. What we've been talking about today are the need for someone who is the UX designer, the mentor role or the UX guardian role. It's more towards the UX strategist that we've had debate about and talks about before. That is needed. But it's not the sole role. We can't force everyone to be the one ultimate role.
