"I was actually planning to move to New York City for a position there. And I just realized, you know, like, I think this is a sign that I need to stay," he says. "Because my dad didn't really speak much English, I was pretty heavily involved in the business from the fact that I was, you know,. it's kind of funny." He grew up in central Michigan area and then lived outside of Michigan for about a decade before moving back.
