Is There a Difference Between Art and Science?
I think it's actually one of the great intellectual follies of our era, this idea that if we could do a brain scan of choice, we'd understand Ulysses or Shakespeare. The whole point about art is that it takes place in the symbolic. That's why we have art in the first place. It's political. These things can be contested and have been ever since the Greeks.
