The Human Individual Is Not a Tabular Rus
The human individual is certainly not a tabular rus or a blank slate. Our personalities are not the mere result of environmental condition, any more than our bodies are just themere result of the food that we eat as children. I what has happened is that we have a kind of biophysical system with a built in biological clock. And as the clock ticks away, so this system accepts and incorporates into itself the personal history of each and every one of us. So really we have to conceive of the life cycle as a dynamic whole and as an archetypeaf process.
