The Niger River in Guinea

West africa's longest river runs inland for over four thousand kilometers in a dramatic, sweeping, sickle shape. At its thickest point, the niger river is nearly a kilometer across and it floods every year turning the desert green. Its cultivation zone is more than five times the size of the one surrounding egypt nile river,. The people who live here to grow rice, millet and cuscus for half of the year. Several species of gazelle and buffalo compete here with large predators like the cheater and lion.
