"I wouldn't want to live under an elected government that actually experimented with some of these post liberal ideas," he says. "But that's not really for me to say, because if we're talking about religiously conservative societies, I'm not allowed to vote in those countries." If you don't like a particularly religious outcome or Islamist outcome, then you do have an option of fighting another day, four years later, five years later at the ballot box. That's what democracy ultimately does.
