i f stone lays this out very well in his hidden history of the korean war, about how the military industrial complex excet. Was able to exploit the now previous statement by the democratic party at that time to support full employment because of the pressure of the trade unions. And essentially was offering, in a way, a way to full employment in the united states by locking in the cold war and locking in permanent military expenditures.
