The End Game of Darth Maul

I don't know if Palpatine would confide in him on that. Maybe he doesn't realize exactly what the end game is. I'm still trying to figure out that out myself. No matter what, when Phologna is in the background actually pulling the strings, you know, they can go in any direction. Nobody ever expected Darth Maul to be resurrected from dead. Yet we got a whole new chapter in his life as a character.
