How to Change How Attractive a Habit
In order to make a habit more attractive, you need to shift your identity. For example, in my case, I don't want to skip workouts because like I want to be the kind of person who doesn't miss workouts. That's kind of part of the identity that I'm trying to build. And so now it's so much a part of my identity that it becomes easier to follow through on it. How often do we tell ourselves a less favorable story? We're directing our attention toward not the most empowering or most useful version of what's happening.
