Eureka: A Machine Discovering Physics

Eureka is a way of a machine discovering physics, it was really mind-blowing at the time. The idea is basically we do this actually naturally, we come up with all kinds of hypotheses and then propose experiments to see if they fit data. In fact you want to propose experiments that deliberately create disagreement between predictions - that's the basis of scientific discovery. And how does it make that initial, it just guesses a random combination of symbols and things? Of course they're all wrong but some of them are slightly less bad than other ones.
