The Problem With the Child Support System

A recent change to federal policy around the way that overpayments and debts recouped has really opened this door as well. If both parents need to lodge tax returns to be able to calculate child support accurately, then the amount of child support that is paid then reduces family tax benefits. It's assumed that you will be receiving child support so the government doesn't have to provide you as much family tax benefit part A. People reported that income is typically withheld say right before Christmas or right before children's birthdays or right before the beginning of the school term.
