Is Software 2.0 the Answer?
Andre Karpathy is an amazing engineer and also a good blog post writer. He argues that software 2.0 is a pervasively learned set of models, away from writing code. If you're predisposed to liking machine learning, then I think that's definitely a good thing. But on the other hand, imperative code is too. You're not going to write a bootloader for your computer with a deep learning model. And so having a data-driven approach to do this kind of stuff can be very valuable but there are huge trade-offs.
