The gig economy is viewed as empowering people to direct their work in ways that optimize their time obligations and aspirations. Critics have bemoaned the poor pay and weak safety nets endemic to gig work, along with the makeshift financial intera structure supporting individuals deriving their pay from digital platforms. startups are taking notice and beginning to target this growing segment of the labor market by offering new tools and services for gig workers. i wanted to get a better sense of just what's happening and where technology solutions are headed.
