Is the AI Really Getting Smarter and More Capable?

Lucy: It's simply enough for an advanced AI to act as if it has intentions in a way much like we treat some humans or other organisms. But I think if you have sufficiently advanced system with goals, and those goals could be anything human given, randomly generated, it doesn't matter. If it's sufficiently smart, it will figure out those additional drives. Lucy: And is it kind of that as such, the AIs keep getting smarter, more capable, and by definition, the ones that become used more are ones that have this ability to think more broadly.
