Dr. O'Carol is going to be leading a prospective multi center study really trying to figure out what the incidence of intraoperative pain is. "I want them to look back at their delivery, focus on, you know, meeting their baby for the first time and not focus on the pain that they had," she says. If it were you and you were labor and you had a perfectly functioning labor epidural, what would you want for yourself? She said without a doubt, she would want that labor epidural with completely withdrawn and a new norexial technique to be performed. 'We can't say definitively one way or the other just yet,' Dr. Hoff adds.
