How Does Metaphysics Work?
In Hinduism, there's a distinction between subtle and gross energy. The spiritual world is composed of sat, shit and ananda - eternity, knowledge and bliss. We're one in quality with God, but different in quantity. So we're a tiny spark of the divine, whereas God is the infinite, absolute divine. And this is explained by them carrying over impressions from past lives in the subtle body.
