The Effects of Alcohol on Osmolarity
Abi: Alcohol appears to cause multiple types of insipidness. How would you say, would we describe this as a central diabetes and Cipidus? Abi: Has anyone tried to figure this out? Margaret Murray, way back in the 1930s when she was doing her experiments, she offered a clue. She administered pituitrin alongside the water and the alcohol. In that experiment, again, a form of pituitary extract was administered. This blocked the diuretic effect of alcohol. And so I think it's probably reasonable to be like alcohol inhibits ADH release.
