How Much Power and Energy Does Mining for Bitcoin Consume?
What if a rogue artificial intelligence created Bitcoin for the express purpose of siphoning electricity to feed its nefarious dark engines? The reason- Yeah, yeah. I'm trying so hard to not just call nonsense on this, but the reason- Let's also use this opportunity to talk about how much bloody power and energy that mining for Bitcoin consumes. Currently Bitcoin miners generate around 75 Bitcoins per hour. And at that point, it's just transaction fees that keep things going.
