Nietzsche's Idea of a Bunch of Philosophers
Nietzsche is against the idea that you could really alter society in some way through intellectual or moral arguments. He's very much inspired by the Epicurean notion of the obscure life. Theogenous was a aristocrat who lived in a Greek city-state called Magara. And what Nietzsche sees in him, and he writes about this in his early essays on Theogenous, was that Theogenous had to turn inward.
