Deexis

When we originally perceived the forest as almost a unified whole, but right before we start piecing it up, we're talking about deexis. And so the idea there is that deexis marks the moment before writing the moment outside of writing. In other words, before I have written the plant into this particular world, into this particular expanse that's in front of me.
