What Do You Do With People Who Sin After Baptism?
The penitential system was a set of rituals and practices to address the question of, what do you do with people who sin after baptism? cyprian came up with this process. He said, well, they should confess that they've committed this grievous sin. They should receive absolution. Because if you have faith in christ. You're saved and absolved of your sins. So the church should give them absolution. This early creed probably was revised in some way into what we now know as the apostles creed.
