The Difference Between Phylactery, Layman, and Talisman

The phylactery or the layman, it's sometimes these things depending on the grimoire and the tradition can almost be the same thing because they are the personal shield so to speak. It's not something given or made for a client specifically, it's something that's going to be worn for the magician themselves during the actual operations of evocation. A lot of times will have that divine symbolism but it will also include the particular sigil name and or symbol of the spirit or angel that you are attempting to contact. Also as a badge of direct connection but also authority when it's combined with those divine symbols.
