The Story of Billy Elting

Billy Dalton was born in Newtonville, Massachusetts. His family moved to California during the gold rush and then backtracked to Butte, Montana. He got a part in cadet theatricals when he was just 10-years-old. By 1895 at the age of 14, Billy is believed to have been working as a dry goods store. The first Corps of Cadets were volunteer militia connected to Boston's upper class.
