What Makes Us Believe in Conspiracy Theories?

Three researchers have been using ugov to pole the british public about their conspiratorial beliefs. They asked people if they thought governments were deliberately hiding the truth about immigration, or the e u Was secretly plotting a takeover. More than half of all respondents said yes. The study actually finds that ukip voters are more likely to be conspiracy theorists. It's not because they're ukip but because they feel completely excluded from the political system. And if you think that ukikip votes ad normally captures the anti esa protest vote, then its makes sense to think your conspiracy theorists are more likely for yuki.
