Is This the History of Inequality?

Thomas Pickett's new book is about- So is this the history of inequality? Yeah, yeah. And he takes a very long view, actually, and I found that really interesting and really compelling because he does talk about a sort of long arc of progress towards more equality. He starts in the Enlightenment, doesn't he?Yeah, so in that view, things like the hiccups of having progress derailed in the short term feel less important to me than understanding that long arc ofprogress.
