Douglas dyer was demobilized in london, but wanted to be in repartory. He couldn't imagine coming back to new zealand and living as a homosexual man there. Dyer tracked down some of his family members who thought he had died years beforehand. And they were delighted that he was alive. The pair met for two afternoons just before he died.
