Science Is a Great Tool for Convincing Yourself

Scientific scepticism is basically just applying logic, evidence and reason to any claims. It's nothing magical or special about accounting for all the evidence in a rigorous fashion. The brain is a flawed organ that can convince itself with religious fervor of anything. That's why we need science. Science is really just a way of enabling us to see what's real and what's not real in some valid way.
