Women's Economic Growth Under Industrialization
Rapid economic growth under industrialization may be one of the most dis optive forces out there. Women in victorian england needed to marry to survive, and they remained dependent on men's good graces. But as divorces soared in the 19 seventies, many women ceased to rely on a male bread winner. And as more women thrived in traditionally masculine domains, others ceased presume them less intelligent. These changes occur if female employment rises, but women's proclivity to move to new economic opportunities is much lower in patrilennial societies like the middle east or north africa.
