The Volitional Aspect of Faith
Buddhist teachings can have an intuitive, even intellectual aspect to them. If we hear a classic Buddhist teaching such as hatred is never appeased by hatred, it's only appeased by love, if that feels true to us, there can be a kind of yes. How we act is very tailing about what our view on life is and what our view of our self is. The practice then is to more deliberately take the teachings and reflect on them,. really, really test them, as one teacher recently said, test them to destruction.
