Is There a Necessary Being?
Bertrand russell: I could only admit a necessary being if there were a being whose existence it is so contradictory to deny. The word necessary can only be applied significantly to propositions, and in fact, only to such as are analytic. Necessity applies to truths of reason, not to things that don't have any self-contradictory meaning.
