Irascible Passions Are Based on Apprehensions

In such cases, what can get aroused is an irascible passion. If you see a pot of gold but its all the way at the end of a rainbow, you may develop a hope to acquire it. You can have a concupiscente passion for something without having an irasic passion for it. Whether an irASIC passion is called forth depends on whether the good or bad is difficult to obtain or avoid. But whether it's difficult is to some extent relative to the agent.
