In the 19 sixties, universities became bases of political action. University students kind of become like a self aware class unto themselves,. They become aware of themselves generationally as something distinct. And they start to socialize one another and become their own little sub culture. With the expansion of the university system after the war, the g i bill and everything, those veterans all went to school.
