The DRE and the Cuban Exiles

Operation Mongoose was officially shuttered in January 1963. Task Force W's operations were folded into a different office, called the Special Affairs Section. In December 62 through Newby, the DRE told Richard Helms that they planned to publish an open letter bashing Kennedy for softness on Cuba.
