The Shocking Intensity Level of an Earthquake
The magnitude of an earthquake essentially tells us how much of the fault moves. The other number we use is called the shaking intensity level. This is a scale of one to 10 and in this case it was round about level nine. And that's because the earthquake was at shallow depth.
