The first six chapters of the hebrew bible were originally scrolls. Each scroll is called or named by the first word that appears on the scroll, berashit means exodus. To day, the second scrowl is called shamot and it starts by listing names. Names are an important theme throughout this book because not only are we going to the names of the house of israel, with the high light of joseph, but it's also going to give us other names. There are qey things that are happening in the first six chapters that are pointing us towards that same mountain and the introduction afd relationship with god.
