The Importance of Advocacy in Sex Education

V was not raised in a family that talks actively about sex. When she got older and had an interest in teaching sex ed or learning about how to teach sex ed, I was really intent on providing the education that my mom maybe didn't or adding to hers. We used our poems to teach people about consent and rape culture. And we realized that colleges are seriously lacking in the Title IX department in teaching about consent and sexual harassment. So we used poetry to do it because it's engaging and exciting and people want to listen to it.
