The History of Fridge Gases

In the 19 eighties, it was discovered that chemicals we were using to keep things cool in our fridges could damage the ozone layer. Now there are new rules again about what refrigerants can be used. But all of these refrigerants are damaging in terms of climate change. The worst of them can be more than ten thousand times as potent as a greenhouse gas, than carbon dioxide. Even in new frages, there still hundreds of times, sometimes more potent than an greenhouse gas. So you need to be really careful how you dispose of them.
