Is Religion Driving the Sex Negative Movement in Schools?
A lot of it is simple parental discomfort and ambivalence. For most parents who are uncomfortable about sexuality, they feel the less you talk about sex in school the better. It's not that the lack of conversation is not valued. The fact that young people don't know about the clitoris is a very important thing in their lives. So it's not like, well, if you don't know what your Charlemagne was born, it really doesn't matter. A lack of information about sexuality is negative. It is value-laden.
