Scientists in portugal found that giving people a basic education about the mind body connection can do things like encourage the release of our indogenous opioids, o kind of natural killers. A study i really like that you talk about in your book called the sigh heart study done in germany where patients are having bi past surgery. And they're split into two groups. Half had the procedure explained to them in real detail and were told how it could help alleviate heart disease. The other half were given emotional support, but not told anything about how things were expected to turn out. Both of those were also compared to a kind of control group whod just had kind of no support at all. It
