Ahanso. Almost sounds like, even though that the fighting has stopped on on the battle field, there's still a lot of tension and conflict within the powers that be. And we see this right at start in dover, in kent. Everyone wants to have a say in who is actually on the english throne. It does seem that at first william made some attempt to rule in a manner that would be acceptable to his english subjects. Yet this attitude changes and hardens as a consequence of the resistance he faced. Actualy emerges in places which are quite unexpected.
