I'm fascinated by knowledge organizers, and I wrote a whole chapter in retrieval primary. At Michaela, we give it out at the start of the topic. This has a core content. If it's on here, you need to know it. So that will form the basis of the retrieval tasks. There's also something called the encoding specificity principle which says if we use the same cues in the encoding stage, as the retrieval stage, shoots them more likely to be successful.
